Legion Alpha Update - Build 21215: Neuheiten, Modelle & mehr!

Nachdem die letzten Alpha Build für Legion ziemlich klein ausfielen, gab es diese Nacht wieder etwas mehr! Die Entwickler haben Build 21215  aufgespielt und mit ihm kamen wieder allerlei neue Modelle, Inhalte und mehr ins Spiel. Was genau, das müssen auch wir erstmal überprüfen und uns auf die aktualisierten Server einloggen, damit wir uns einen Überblick verschaffen können. Dementsprechend werden wir dann diesen Artikel aktualisieren. Folgend gibt es bereits eine Liste der Highlights und Neuheiten, die unteranderem auch von den Infos der Dataminer bei MMOChampion und WoWHead gefüllt wird. Schaut also öfters mal vorbei! Am Ende des Artikel gibt es außerdem ein Design-Status-Bluepost von Blizzard.
 

Highlights aus dem Legion Alpha Build 21215

  • Es gibt  kein neues Levelcap, keine Dungeons und keine Zone!
     
  • Eine neue Ausrichtung wurde freigeschaltet: Wildheits-Druide
     
  • Hexenmeister bekommen ein verbessertes Modell für ihre Sukkubus - Siehe neue Modelle weiter unten
     
  • Es gibt neue Modelle für Schaafe, Ziegen und Hirsche. Mit dabei ist auch ein mechanisches Schaaf für Jäger!  - Siehe neue Modelle weiter unten
     
  • Es wurde ein neuer Alphaserver eröffnet, auf dem PvP getestet werden soll. Dafür gibt es Charakterw auf Level 110 mit voller PvP-Ausrüstung und Artefaktwaffen! Jedoch kann man sich nur in Dalaran aufhalten und für das PvP anmelden.
     
  • Die Formel, wie sekundäre Attribute skalieren wurde geändert, um zu verhindern, dass Spieler sich generft fühlen, wenn sie Level aufsteigen, dass man schneller die richtigen Caps erreicht, und, dass es im Endgame nicht zu extrem hohen Werten kommt.
     
  • Die Anpassungen an den Wasserschreitern wurde wieder entfernt.
     
  • Das vor langer Zeit gedatamindete Fisch-Reittier, hat nun einen Tooltip bekommen, der aussagt, dass man es nur unter Wasser beschwören kann.
     
  • Wie immer können alle Anpassungen an den Artefakten, Talenten und PvP-Talenten in den englischen Rechnern auf WoWHead ausprobiert werden - Talentrechner, Artefaktrechner, PvP-Rechner

  • Thrash Strikes all enemy targets within 8 yards, dealing [ 1 + 60% of AP ] Bleed damage and an additional [ 5 + 30% of AP ] Bleed damage over 15 sec.   • Fury of Elune Calls down a beam of pure celestial energy at the target location, dealing [ 300% of Spell Power ] Astral damage every 1,000 sec. Lasts until Astral Power is exhausted. While Fury of Elune is active, you may recast it for free to direct the beam to move to a new location.   • Guttural Roars Name changed from "Gutteral Roars" to "Guttural Roars".

  • Den Mother Your Ironfur is also applied to the lowest health member of your party or raid within 0 10 yards. Guardian Druid - Tier 3 PvP Talent.

Balance
  • Lunar Strike Call down a strike of lunar energy, causing [ 350% of Spell Power ] Arcane damage to the target, and [ 70% [ 52.5% of Spell Power ] Arcane damage to all other enemies within 5 yards. Restoration

PvP Talents
  • Go for the Throat Name changed from "Go for the Throat " to "Go for the Throat". If your Dire Beasts attack a target at or below 15% health, their summoned duration is extended by 50 sec When you Kill Command a target at 50% health or lower, the cooldown is reset. Beast Mastery Hunter - Tier 5 PvP Talent.
  • Sniper Shot Take a sniper's stance, firing a well-aimed shot dealing (822% of weapon damage) Physical damage. Increases the range of all shots by 40% for 6 10 sec. Marksmanship Hunter - Tier 5 PvP Talent. 50 Focus. 60 yd range. Instant. 6 sec cooldown.

Marksmanship

Arcane
  • Arcane Charge Arcane charges are generated by Arcane Blast, Arcane Missiles, and Arcane Explosion, and are consumed by Arcane Barrage: Arcane Blast Generates a charge. Arcane Blast's damage is increased by 50% per charge, and its mana cost is increased by 100% per charge. Arcane Missiles Generates a charge. Arcane Missiles' damage is increased by 50% per charge. Arcane Explosion Has a 1% chance to generate a charge if at least one target is hit Generates a charge if it hits at least one target. Arcane Explosion's damage is increased by 50% per charge, and its mana cost is increased by 100% per charge. Arcane Barrage Consumes all charges.   • Mastery: Ignite Your target burns for an additional 12% 8% over 9 sec of the total direct damage caused by your Fireball, Inferno Blast, Scorch, Pyroblast, and Flamestrike. If this effect is reapplied, any remaining damage will be added to the new Ignite. Every 2 sec, your Ignites may spread to another nearby enemy. Mage - Fire Spec.
  • Scorch Scorch the enemy for [ 1 + 25% 50% of Spell Power ] Fire damage. Castable while moving. Mage - Fire Spec. 1% of Base Mana. 40 yd range. 1.5 sec cast.

PvP Talents
  • Ride the Wind Flying Serpent Kick forms a path of wind in its wake, causing all allies who stand in it to have 30% increased movement speed and suppression of movement speed reduction effects. Windwalker Monk - Tier 4 PvP Talent.

Mistweaver
  • Essence Font Unleash a rapid twirl of healing bolts at up to 6 allies within 25 yds, every 1,002 sec for 3 sec. Each bolt heals the target for [ 90% [ 110% of Spell Power ], plus an additional [ 20% [ 12% of Spell Power ] over 6 sec. Monk - Mistweaver Spec. 8% of Base Mana. 3 sec cast (Channeled).
  • Renewing Mist You surround the target with healing mists, restoring [ 50% of Spell Power ] health over 20 sec. If Renewing Mist causes any overhealing, it will travel to the most injured ally within 20 yds. When Renewing Mist heals, it has a 4% chance to increase the healing of your next Vivify by 50%. Paladin

  • Aura of Sacrifice When any ally within 10 yards takes damage, 10% of the damage is redirected to you, while you are above 50% 65% health. During Aura Mastery, 15% of all effective healing you deal is replicated on all allies in the aura. Holy Paladin - Level 60 Talent.
  • Bastion of Light Instantly grants 3 charges of Shield of the Righteous. Protection Paladin - Level 75 Talent. Instant. 3 min cooldown.

PvP Talents
  • Blessing of Sanctuary Name changed from "Blessing of Sancturary" to "Blessing of Sanctuary".
  • Vengeance Aura Whenever nearby allies within 40 yards become victim to a full loss of control effect, your Holy damage and attack speed increases critical strike chance is increased by 3% for 10 sec. Stacks up to 10 times. Retribution Paladin - Tier 4 PvP Talent.

Holy
  • Avenging Wrath Imbues you with wrathful light, increasing healing done by 50% and your critical strike chance and damage 35% and your damage and critical strike chance by 20% for 20 sec. Paladin - Holy Spec. Instant. 2 min cooldown.
  • Divine Intervention Any attack which would kill you instead reduces you to 20% of your maximum health and triggers Divine Shield. Cannot occur while Divine Shield is on cooldown or Forbearance is active. Paladin - Holy Spec. Your maximum health is increased by 15%. Paladin - Holy Spec.
  • Holy Shock Instantly trigger a burst of Light on the target, dealing [ 350% of Spell Power ] Holy damage to an enemy, or [ 350% of Spell Power ] healing to an ally. Holy Shock has double the normal critical strike chance. Paladin - Holy Spec. 12% 10% of Base Mana. 40 yd range. Instant. 8 sec cooldown. 9 sec cooldown.

  • Icefury Hurl frigid ice at the target, dealing [ 1 + 180% of Spell Power ] Frost damage and causing the next 4 Frost Shocks you cast to deal 400% increased damage. Generates 30 Maelstom. Elemental Shaman - Level 100 Talent. 30 40 yd range. 2 sec cast. 30 sec cooldown.
  • Undulation Every third Healing Wave heals for an additional 75% or Healing Surge heals for an additional 50%. Restoration Shaman - Level 15 Talent.

PvP Talents
  • Ethereal Form Name changed from "Astral Shift" to "Ethereal Form". You turn ethereal, making you immune to all physical damage, but unable to attack. and your movement speed is reduced by 50%. Vulnerable to magic, receiving 200% increased damage. Lasts for 15 sec. Use Astral Shift again to shift out Ethereal Form again to shift out. Replaces Astral Shift. Can be cast in Ghost Wolf. Enhancement Shaman - Tier 3 PvP Talent. Instant. 45 sec cooldown.
  • Fire and Ice Frost Shock now deals 20% additional damage, and Flame Shock's periodic damage generates 3 Maelstrom. In addition, they no longer cost Maelstrom to cast. Elemental Shaman - Tier 4 PvP Talent.

Elemental
  • Lightning Bolt Fires a bolt of lightning at the target, dealing [ 1 + 204% of Spell Power ] Nature damage, and generating 10 0 Maelstrom. Shaman - Elemental Spec. 30 yd range. Instant.
  • Mastery: Elemental Overload Grants a 0% 16% chance for Elemental Overload to occur. Elemental Overload causes a Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, or Lava Burst you cast to trigger a second, similar spell on the same target that causes 75% of normal damage and Maelstrom generation, and no threat. Shaman - Elemental Spec. 50% Maelstrom generation. Shaman - Elemental Spec.

Enhancement
  • Feral Spirit Summons two Spirit Wolves that aid the Shaman in battle, lasting 15 sec. Spirit Wolves are immune to movement-impairing effects. Each time the Spirits attack, they generate 10 5 Maelstrom for you. Shaman - Enhancement Spec. 30 yd range. Instant. 2 min cooldown.

Restoration
  • Healing Stream Totem Summons a Water Totem at the feet of the Shaman that heals an injured party or raid member within 40 yards for [ 70% of Spell Power ] every 2 5 sec. Lasts 15 sec. Shaman - Restoration Spec. 11% of Base Mana. Instant.
  • Lightning Bolt Fires a bolt of lightning at the target, dealing [ 1 + 450% 300% of Spell Power ] Nature damage. Shaman - Restoration Spec. 30 yd range. Instant.

Hexenmeister
  • Fel Armor Fel energies protect the Warlock, increasing their Stamina by 10% reducing all damage taken by 10%,, and increasing all healing received by 10%.
  • Summon Infernal Summons a Infernal from the Twisting Nether, impacting for 0 [ 50% of Spell Power Fire damage and stunning all enemy targets in the area for 2 sec. The Infernal will serve under your command for 20 sec, dealing strong area of effect damage. Guardian. 0 Soul Shard. 30 yd range. Instant. 3 min cooldown.

Talents
  • Demonbolt Draw energy from your demons and launch a ball of demonic energy at the target, dealing 1 Chaos damage. Damage is increased by 30% for each demon that you have. Generates 1 Soul Shard. Replaces Shadow Bolt. Demonology Warlock - Level 100 Talent. 4.8% of Base Mana. 40 yd range. 2.5 sec cast. 2 sec cast.
  • Phantom Singularity Place a phantom singularity above the target, which consumes the life of all enemies within 25 yards, dealing [ 25% [ 60% of Spell Power ] damage every 2 sec for 16 sec, healing you for 30% of the damage done. Warlock - Level 100 Talent. 40 yd range. Instant. 60 sec cooldown.
  • Summon Beholder Name changed from "Summon Dreadlord" to "Summon Beholder". Summon a Dreadlord that will launch Shadow Volleys at Beholder that will launch Eye Lasers that hit all targets that you have Doomed. Lasts 18 sec. Demonology Warlock - Level 100 Talent. 0 Soul Shard. Instant. 24 sec cooldown.

Destruction
  • Mastery: Chaotic Energies Your Destruction spells deal up to 16% additional damage, randomly. Warlock - Destruction Spec. You take up to 5.328% reduced damage, randomly. Warlock - Destruction Spec.

Pets
  • Meteor Strike The infernal releases a powerful burst of flames, dealing 0 [ 50% of Spell Power Fire damage to nearby targets, and stunning them for 2 sec. Unlimited range. Instant. 60 sec cooldown.

Krieger
Talents
  • Outburst Berserker Rage now Enrages you for 4.4 4 sec, but its cooldown is increased by 30 sec. Fury Warrior - Level 90 Talent.
  • Storm Bolt Hurls your weapon at an enemy, causing [ 400% [ 200% of AP ] Physical damage and stunning for 4 sec. Deals quadruple damage to targets permanently immune to stuns. Warrior - Level 15 Talent. 20 yd range. Instant. 30 sec cooldown.

PvP Talents
  • Battle Trance After you Raging Blow the same target twice, you go into a trance causing you to regenerate 3% of your health and generate 5 50 Rage every 3 sec for 12 sec. Using Raging Blow on a new target will cancel this effect. Fury Warrior - Tier 4 PvP Talent.

Fury
  • Enrage Bloodthirst critical strikes will Enrage you, increasing attack speed by 100% and damage taken by 30% for 4.4 sec. Warrior - Fury Spec. 4 sec. Warrior - Fury Spec.
 

Die Veränderung der Skalierung von sekundären Attribute

Mit diesem Alphapatch wurden auch Anpassungen an der Skalierung von sekundären Attributen vorgenommen, um diverse Probleme zu beheben, die in der Vergangenheit bereits oft auftraten und das Spielgefühl negativ beeinflusst haben. Damit soll nun endlich Schluss sein und dafür wurden Änderungen vorgenommen. Eine genauere (deutsche) Erklärung gibt es in einem separaten Artikel auf Vanion.eu im Laufe des Tages!

 Secondary Stat Scaling in Legion
Warning, this post is mathy. You do not need to know/understand any of this to succeed in Legion. This is purely for the curious math-oriented players who want to know how things work.

Secondary stats are going to scale a little differently in Legion. There are a few goals here.
 
  • Get players to the 'feels good' level of secondary stats sooner. (A Fire Mage doesn't feel so good with 5% crit.)
  • Reduce the feeling of being nerfed as you level up.
  • Reduce the degree that players scale exponentially, especially at high gear levels.
  • Don't reduce the degree of stat customization that players have.
  • Ensure that players still can't get to crazy levels of stats that break the game, or reduce fun.

Using purely ballpark numbers, players in Warlords started their endgame experience with about 15% of their favorite stat, and 7.5% of the other stats, resulting in a total multiplier from secondary stats of about 1.54. By the end of the expansion, they had something like 50% of their favorite stat, and 20% of the other stats, resulting in a total multiplier from secondary stats of about 3.11. This effect is even more pronounced for tanks and healers, due to Bonus Armor and Spirit being an additional extra-strong multiplier. And since stats on gear scale exponentially with ilvl, that transition started off slow, then ramped up quickly near the end, spending very little time in the sweet spot in the middle.

For Legion, we'll be making some changes to these systems, in order to improve this situation. Here's what we've done in the latest Alpha build:
 
  • Conversion rates of Rating->% for secondary stats will not go up as much as they otherwise would, by a huge margin. The conversion rates will end up at 110 at less than half of what they otherwise would have, resulting in Legion dungeon blue gear providing over double the total secondary stat %s, as the it did in prior expansions.
  • Starting at ilvl 800, the exponential curve for secondary stats will be significantly reduced, nearly to being linear (this is per-item, not related to the character's average item level). Primary stats and Stamina will continue to scale exponentially with ilvl at the same rate as before. This will mean that players retain all of the same customization they had, but with secondary stat %s not scaling higher than they had before, by the end of the expansion.

The removal of multistrike also affects this, reducing how multiplicative the total system is, while further concentrating stats into the other 4. That will mean that in dungeon blues, a player may have 30% of their favorite stat, and 15% of the other stats, resulting in a multiplier of 1.78. By the end of the expansion, they may have 50% of their favorite stat, and 20% of the other stats, same as before, for a total multiplier of 2.59. The net result is that the multiplier difference between start and end is drastically reduced, and players spend the vast majority of the expansion in the ranges that feel best, while primary stats still scaling exponentially ensures that player power grows as needed to feel rewarding.

Is this something already implemented that we will be able to get a feel for in lvl 110 dungeons or raid testing without lvl 110 being open yet in Alpha?
Yes, this is implemented in today's Alpha build.

Has the way Armor increases with item level changed?
There were some tweaks in this build to armor coefficient by level, mostly to smooth out the 100 to 103 range, where there was previously a sharp drop in armor effectiveness.

How will this be implemented for trinkets with scaling procs? Will this be implemented as a change to the prop point table above level 110 dungeon blues ilvl or something else?
The trinket's item level will determine the rate at which the secondary stat is scaled. Essentially, the proc will be subject to the same rules as if it passively existed on the item for its duration.

How exactly is the ilvl relationship with secondaries changing post ilvl 800? Feel free to post actual math.
I believe dataminers will find a new gametable with the exact coefficients for each ilvl.

EDIT: Yep, that's the one (see immediately following post).

A large enough ilvl difference has always been enough to beat different secondary stats, and that will only be a little moreso the case than before.

This change doesn't make higher ilvl gear less rewarding, just skews that reward toward the primary stats, so that the value of primaries (additive) and secondary (multiplicative) stay in sync, and secondaries don't scale out of control. It doesn't take much; the skewing is on the order of 0.66% per ilvl difference. But that exponential factor adds up over the course of an expansion, which this avoids.

With this change, will the ilevel difference before secondary stats don't matter be significantly smaller compared to live, or will it only be maybe one or two less than currently? (I know this is really general since is different for different specs)
It's small. Something like 5-15% less than it was before. So if that threshold for you was 10-15ilvls, it may be 9-13ilvls in Legion.

Players typically compare items within a relatively tight slice (probably within 20ilvls), where this change has a relatively minor impact. This change only has a large impact on a grand scale like over the course of a whole expansion.

We have another alpha build going up today, with some exciting updates:
 
  • New Specialization Unlocked – We have 1 additional specialization ready for testing. We’d love any and all feedback about gameplay, artifact quest line, abilities, etc.
    • Feral Druid
  • Class Status – We’re continuing to iterate on our class abilities and talents, based on testing and feedback. This build has many revisions scattered around the classes, but here are some highlights:
    • Retribution Paladins – More talent revisions have been made, their Mastery has been tweaked, along with a variety of bugfixes to Haste affecting rotational abilities. Conviction has also been turned into a talent.
    • Marksmanship Hunters – A few significant talent changes have occurred.
    • Subtlety Rogues – Many changes to talents and base abilities to adjust rotational speed.
    • Destruction Warlocks – Mastery tweaked.
    • Outlaw Rogues – Roll the Bones has received some additional new changes.
    • Demonology Warlocks – Infernals’ and Doomguards’ damage has been significantly increased (warning: they’re likely *too* strong now, and will be toned back soon).
  • Level 110 PvP Realm – A new alpha realm has opened up, which includes:
    • Level 110 Character Templates: Fully upgraded artifacts and ilvl 810 PvP Gear.
    • No access to Legion outdoor zones except for Dalaran.
    • Full access to the new Honor System at level 110, including PvP talents and prestiging. You’ll be able to earn honor, increase honor level, and unlock PvP talents. No PvP gear will be rewarded yet.
    • Battlegrounds are available for queuing, with the exception of Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest. Skirmishes, Ashran, Rated Battlegrounds, War Games, and all Arenas are unavailable.

Is it possible you can elaborate on what has changed? Testing RtB buff proc rates and breakdowns is a pretty substantial undertaking[/i]

Nothing changed with the proc rate. Just the effects, and some visuals changed.
